Module meets DCF’s designation of ‘Trauma’ specific training
ACES are the largest public health problem to be discovered in the past thirty years. Traumatic childhood experiences (toxic stress) impacts a child’s daily life in the home, in school and the community. Even when children are too young to remember the events (neglect, abuse, abandonment, violence, etc.), the body never forgets. In this workshop, ACES and the ACES Scale will be introduced and the research and importance of this life-changing information will be presented. All children are affected by ACES, but our foster and adoptive population are even more at risk.
